Understanding The Role Of Ancestors In Ìgbò Cosmology. In Odinana Ìgbò, Ndị Ịchie refers to the ancestors, who are believed to continue to exist in the spiritual realm after death. The Ìgbò people believe that the ancestors play an important role in their lives and in the community as a whole. According to Ìgbò cosmology, the ancestors are considered to be intermediaries between the living and the Supreme Being, Chukwu. The ancestors are believed to have a closer relationship with Chukwu than the living, and as such, they are able to intercede on behalf of the living. The ancestors are also believed to have the power to bless or curse their descendants, depending on their behavior and actions. Therefore, the Ìgbò people believe it is important to honor and respect their ancestors by performing rituals and sacrifices in their honor. Concept of Mgbidi kingdom in Awgu

Mgbidi (previously known as Mgbidi and Uwee). It is the local government headquarters of Awgu LGA, the capital of Awgu, and a town in the area. Enugu State, located in the Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Southeastern Nigeria.[1] According to the 2006 Nigerian Census, the population of Mgbidi was recorded at approximately 30,253. As of 2024, estimates project the population to exceed 54,000.Mgbidi was the host of Greater Awgu Local Government Area Headquarters which included Aninri and Oji River Local Government Areas. Mgbidi remains the host of the Awgu Local Government Area Headquarters, the collation center for the Enugu West senatorial district. Mgbidi is also home to the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp.
It's s an ancient kingdom located in Awgu local government, Enugu State Nigeria.
The Town is surrounded by Mmaku at North East (NE), Awgu at South and South West , Nkwe and Ezere at North Pole and Newenta at North West (NW). It is 96%  Hilly topographically. its geographical coordinates are 6° 5' 0" North, 7° 27' 0" East
Mgbidi is an igbo-speaking community with a population of over 30,000 people.

Mgbidi is also known as "Nwe" as this was the ancient name of the community before the colonial arrival of the former British Empire and Warrant Chiefs that followed much later around the 1930s. The town is made up by two autonomous communities Ezineri and Ezinese, Ezineri is made up by seven villages namely; EZIOHA, EZIAMA, IFITE, AMOJI, ENUGUIFE, UDUDA, AND OGUMGBIDI while Ezinese is made up by six villages namely; OGUGWU, UWAKPU, OFELITE , ISIUGA, ISIYI, AND OGBA making total of thirteen villages.
There are extension of villages like IFITE-AWA and ADANI-EZIOHA/ADANI-UWAKPU .
The town Mgbidi "Ezioha village" hosts the local government quarter called Awgu LGA , hosts the available ministries in the LGA including NYSC permanent Camp . There is a misconception that a neighboring Town Awgu Town is the host community of LOCAL Government quarter but that is not true as Ezioha accounts 100% of the landmass of LG Quarter and afar.
 The traditional stool, and the traditional leadership responsibility in  autonomous Mgbidi community, are Ezinese (High Chief PD Uzochukwu.) And Ezineri (Vacant). To be continue in subsequent post.
