Despite the divisive actions of Gerald Ilechukwu and Papa T Onyimba, the resilient people of Mgbidi remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice and a fair election, determined to uphold their community’s integrity.

  Gerald Ilechukwu and Papa T Onyimba  In the latter part of the previous year, specifically around November, the people of Mgbidi came to a collective and unanimous decision to elect a new government, as the leadership of the sitting government had reached its expiration date on December 31, 2023. However, despite the fact that their term had ended, the current government persisted in unlawfully occupying the seat of the MCU. At the time, the Post of the PG was held by Mr. Alex Okeke. In response to the mounting and overwhelming call from the people of Mgbidi for a fresh election, the former PG, Pastor Alex Okeke, boldly declared that December 31, 2024, would be the date of the upcoming election. Concept of Mgbidi kingdom in Awgu

Mgbidi is an ancient kingdom located in Awgu local government, Enugu State Nigeria. The Town is surrounded by Mmaku at North East (NE), Awgu at South and South West , Nkwe and Ezere at North Pole and Newenta at North West (NW). It is 96%  Hilly topographically.  its geographical coordinates are 6° 5' 0" North, 7° 27' 0" East Mgbidi is an igbo-speaking community with a population of over 30,000 people. Mgbidi is also known as "Nwe" as this was the ancient name of the community before the colonial arrival of the former British Empire and Warrant Chiefs that followed much later around the 1930s. The town is made up by two autonomous communities Ezineri and Ezinese , Ezineri is made up by seven villages namely; EZIOHA , EZIAMA, IFITE, AMOJI, ENUGUIFE, UDUDA, AND OGUMGBIDI while Ezinese is made up by six villages namely; OGUGWU, UWAKPU, OFELITE , ISIUGA, ISIYI, AND OGBA making total of thirteen villages.
