Understanding The Role Of Ancestors In Ìgbò Cosmology. In Odinana Ìgbò, Ndị Ịchie refers to the ancestors, who are believed to continue to exist in the spiritual realm after death. The Ìgbò people believe that the ancestors play an important role in their lives and in the community as a whole. According to Ìgbò cosmology, the ancestors are considered to be intermediaries between the living and the Supreme Being, Chukwu. Different  people from different places had settled in the area in pursuit of safety.
